چکیده

Introduction: Periodontitis and diabetes have a combined systemic local effect on tooth supporting structure has been reported for decades. The gold standard treatment protocol would be scaling root planing (SRP), which when with laser therapy an additional benefit in the reduction of clinical parameters glycated haemoglobin (HbA1c) levels. Objective: To evaluate effectiveness without Diode application levels type II diabetic patients Chronic Periodontitis. Methods: Twenty eight recruited by convenient sampling were divided into two groups this pretest post-test study design. Group A received (SRP) B SRP diode (980 nm) application. HbA1c evaluated at three six months; one, three, months post-treatment. Data analysed SPSS v.20. Results: Mean values HbA1c, probing depth (PD), attachment level (CAL), plaque index (PI), gingival (GI) reduced significantly after both more group. However, intergroup comparison CAL not significant. Conclusions: findings current showed significant improvements as compared baseline treated + Laser. Thus, use no improvement statistically used adjunct to planing.

Effect of scaling and root planing on levels of 8-hydroxydeoxyguanosine in gingival crevicular fluid of chronic periodontitis patients with and without Type II diabetes mellitus

Context Chronic periodontitis (CP) and diabetes mellitus are associated with increased oxidative damage to DNA with formation of 8-hydroxydeoxyguanosine (8-OHdG). The aim of this study was to evaluate the change in gingival crevicular fluid (GCF) levels of 8-OHdG and glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c) by 3 months after scaling and root planing (SRP), in CP patients with and without Type II diabete...

The Effects of Diode Laser as an Adjunct to Scaling and Root Planing on Treatment of Chronic Periodontitis: A Review of the literature

Background and aim: The most common form of periodontitis is chronic periodontitis, which is a destructive inflammatory disease of periodontal tissues and is usually associated with pocket formation, changes in density and height of alveolar bone, and sometimes gingival recession. Some patients are resistant to periodontitis treatment due to a weak immune system, smoking, and sometimes due to u...

Serum levels of interleukin-23 and 35 in patients with and without type 2 diabetes mellitus and chronic periodontitis

Background: Type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) and chronic periodontitis (CP) show common pathophysiological features. We investigated the serum levels of IL-23 and IL-35 in people with type 2 DM and CP. Methods: In a cross-sectional study, 72 patients were divided into four equal groups: group A, participants without type 2 DM and CP; group B, patients with type 2 DM without CP; group C, patients ...
